Planning Flowers for Your Wedding
Wedding planning is an exhilarating time for couples on the hunt for the perfect dress, an exciting venue, a delicious cake, and of course gorgeous flowers. THE INITIAL CONSULTATION
Couples are invited to the store for their initial consultation. After we discuss logistical details, I identify details that often get overlooked. Do you need flowers for a place card table, a sign-in table, or a gift card table? Would you like flowers for your cake? Will you decorate in the ladies room? I fine-tune everything to the smallest detail.
Then comes the fun part – the flowers. Are there certain flowers or colors that you have always wanted in your wedding? Some brides already have every detail planned while others seek guidance. Perhaps they have a style in mind like romantic, modern, or rustic. I zero in on the style that suits them. The flowers should be a reflection of the bride as a person.
ACCOMMODATING YOUR NEEDS
My goal is to provide the aesthetic the couple seeks without having them stress about their costs. When it comes to budget, I have done wonders with both small and large-scale budgets. I am happy simply to create a boutonniere and bouquet for a court wedding. Alternatively, I am equally happy to work on larger scale events.
If I have the right flowers in my cooler, I show a sample that reflects what we have discussed. If not, when the flowers become available, I invite the bride back to offer a preview of her flowers. Afterwards, I send her home with a lovely mini version of the bridal bouquet.
I like to be flexible and have planned for weddings anywhere from three weeks, to three months, to one year in advance. If you have last minute needs, let me know and I would be happy to try and accommodate you.
THE JOY OF DESIGNING FOR WEDDINGS
There are those moments when everything flows harmoniously. The couple may be extra delightful to work with. The little things that come together can make an event fabulous and unforgettable. You get that satisfaction of working on something that feels just right. And the joy you provide to the happy couple is the biggest reward of all.
My favorite aspect is when everything looks spectacular and I am proud of the transformation. The first time you walk in and see the space, it can make you cry over how overwhelmingly beautiful it is. In fact, recently I delivered flowers to a bride who had tears in her eyes when she saw them. It was a memorable moment for me.
As the seasons change, it is always exciting to see what special flowers are available that can add a unique element to arrangements. There is something about the beauty of flowers, an intricate design, or a magical assortment that can claim my focus for hours. When I am not working on a wedding, I adore designing weekly arrangements for private homes or arrangements for in-home events.
